Riding the Devil is an excellent story. Not only are the characters unique and special, they make the story memorable and fun. The book also adds a lot of suspense, has a mysterious touch, and leaves you and your curiosity wanting more ... This is a great book! It taught us the values of the people during the rancho period. It is very informational yet makes me laugh. Riding the Devil tells a realistic story that zaps me back in time. There are dramatic events. There is even a bit of irony. This book can give you a brief example of that California's history was like. It's also funny. Eduardo is always trying to scare Rosita, and Rosita is always playing with her cat, Mariposa.
